Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards...

Why on Deck

Inscryption is the kind of game that wants the lights off and your face close to the screen, and the Deck delivers exactly that. The first act’s cabin is genuinely unsettling on a handheld in bed, and the deckbuilder loop is short enough that “one more game” turns into three hours without you noticing. It’s a story-rich game so suspend is a gift here, you can dip in for a single match or stay for a whole act. The card-handling translates fine to a controller, and the pixel-and-FMV mix looks weirdly perfect on the OLED.
